Reflections: Weeks 1 and 2

*Hello Everyone! How have you been doing with your blogs? I have been working hard to make my blog interesting, but I have to admit I've gotten frustrated a number of times.

*Throughout the first week of Environmental Health we've gone through what the class entails and what Environmental Health means. The syllabus introduction showed us how to achieve the grade we are striving to get. The requirements have a broad range showing us how hard we each want to work if we deserve the ultimate grade. The second day of class was very interesting as we took part in an exercise about strategies. Each student had to fit within the rope circles throughout the classroom. It was very tricky for everyone to fit as the ropes were being eliminated throughout the exercise. We all put our heads together and came up with a solution to just put our feet in the middle of the circle at the end. The exercise showed me that we are all part of the same environment and that each person makes a difference in how we keep it under control.

*Week two got a little more intense as we learned how to create our own personal blogs. By using blogs, we can communicate with other students, Dr. V, and show others who are interested in our project what we are learning. It was priceless looking at all the confused faces as Dr.V was explaining our instructions about blogging. In the end, we all know what we need to do and how to go about it. It was neat learning about all the options you can add to your blog such as exercise tips for each day, youtube videos, and pictures regarding the topics we will be discussing. I never knew blogs could be so much fun! I may be frustrated perfecting my blog now, but can't wait to see the end result.

School has been flying by this semester as I am in my junior year. I am learning so much as I am taking part in Environmental Health. I am interested in what is yet to come as we explore through the semester. I am very happy that I have taken this course and excited to see how it will play into my Community Health major.
Thank you for reading my post, and leave a comment if you'd like!

Hey Christen! Nice blog set up :) I really like it! I thought that the Star Wars activity with the ropes was really neat! It was nice to have a hands on way of seeing why it is SO important to treat our environment right! Week 2 was overwhelming I thought... with everything kind of just being thrown at us, it can only get easier from here! Have a good weekend!

Hello there Christen! Nice reflection post! We have been getting a lot thrown at us, and the grade system is a little confusing, but it's looking like it should all work out

Hey Christen! I like the purple background for your blog with the bright light colors for your text. Everyone else seemed to go with a green theme so it was nice to see a different color choice. I hope you didn't struggle too much with your blog but based on it's appearance it looks like your feeling a bit more confident about blogging. =) I also liked the "star wars" rope activity and liked how we were able to do some "class bonding" the second day of class. I'm glad we took the time the second week to develop our blogs now we will have more time to focus on the environment for the rest of semester=) Ttyl

Hi! I really like how the name of your blog is at the top of your page.. for some reason mine wont let me do that. I think it is the template that I chose! I must admit that the blogging does get a littel frustrating at times, but am excited to perfect my page as well! Hope you had a good weekend!

Hey Christen!!
Cute avatar. Haha I agree with your post though, we all need to work together to achieve a goal in which we learned with the Star Wars activity.
I also think it is going to be interesting with grading and how we can choose our own grade! It will be interesting to see how that will all work out!!
I know blogging can be confusing, but I think we will get used to it!!
Glad we are in a group together!!! :)
See you soon
