Environmental Working Group:
After taking the quiz on cosmetics, I realized how dangerous some of the products I use everyday are. Wow, no way! I use makeup on a daily basis like most girls and had no idea there were dangerous substances in it. I did a variety of the quizzes, but the one that really stood out to me was the hairspray I use.

Christen's Conclusions:I evaluated all of the makeup I use from the lip gloss to the contact solution and none of them even compared to the hairspray I use. The hairspray I use rated a 6 on the scale which indicates it's moderately dangerous. I honestly don't plan on changing my hairspray because I've used the same kind for many years and am happy with it. I will keep my options open about the makeup I use and will keep my eyes open for organic cosmetics. I think it's really important for us to know these issues. I never would've guessed my hairspray was that dangerous.

I've always heard hairspray isn't good for the environment but a 6?! JEEZ! I don't use this brand, but I would guess they are all pretty close in numbers... sad. Good job!

Christen!!
I think this eye opener we all had to do was my favorite eye opener because I am such a cosmetic junky...I try everything and love everything! BUt this really made me 2nd guess what's in the product! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this hairspray that you use, it smells so good but what a disappointment to find out how hazardous it is!
Yes, I also think this is an issue we should all be aware about!! How heartbreaking, maybe someday we can try new hairspray! Thanks for the eyeopener Christen!!

Wow, a six is pretty high, huh? I knew that hairspray wasn't good for the environment but what are we to do when we have to deal with this humidity?!? ;) I guess cutting back on it's usage or just trying out safer kinds might be a good idea. I really don't like that herbal essences tests their products on animals. =(
Overall, great eye opener, Christen.
Hey Christen! Can't say that I've ever used Hairspray, but a 6 doesn't sound the best. But I guess it could be a heck of a lot worse! Great Eye Opener!
